Setting plenty of checkpoints long before the performance review is great advice. So is having at least one monthly one-on-one with each team member, where leaders can check on how each one is doing and take up points like dependencies or factors outside that team member’s circle of influence.
As big fans of the Franklin Covey group’s 4DX framework, we found David and Ascender’s VQTQ structure for writing objectives very much on the mark.
The price we happily pay for the privilege of leadership is to keep on learning and discovering insights about how to unleash people’s potential.
