While working from home has gained more acceptance in the past year, some business leaders may still be thinking that WFH is a temporary fix.
Or hankering to bring everyone back into the office as soon as they’re vaccinated.
It might be more realistic (and also more prudent) to see working from home as part of everyday working conditions for some years to come. And to keep finding a way to make the experience work for everyone. These are some of the ideas that have stood out for me.
Some flexibility is a must. Work and home roles will overlap more often than they won’t. Trust that your team members are doing the best they can to do both roles well.
Recognize that your leadership team needs more training and at least more time to exchange ideas around running huddles more effectively, communicating precisely, and finding the right balance that keeps their team accountable and feel supported.
