If you need a high level of security from Go-VA, then the VA will enter into a PCI compliant office. Which means that team members have to use biometrics to enter that space, the computer systems have no USB on them. So no information can be taken off the computer, there’s no mobile phones allowed, no pens or paper. All the data is saved on my their databases in the cloud and nothing is saved within our environment.

Fiona has come up with a really simple formula to recruit a good Virtual Assistant. First, check their resume and make sure they’re not a job hopper and good work ethics. The second one is testing English comprehension. And the third one is attention to detail. Test on attention to detail because that will improve everything long term.

The best test that you can give is a sample task of what they’re going to be doing every day. If you’re paying a little bit more you can get more experienced VAs. It works the same way as it does in any country, in any industry.

It really is anything that can be done in front of a computer. It could be web developers, IT support, electrical estimators, construction estimators, content writers, social media and marketing,legal assistance, outbound sales, appointment setters, bookkeepers, we can even find CPA qualified bookkeepers as well. There’s over 100 million people in the Philippines, it’s a really big talent pool.
Jump online with your Virtual Assistant using a platform like Zoom. Share your screen with them, get them to record the session and show them how though you want that task done. They then keep that video which becomes the first training video of your suite of videos. They you ask them to write the Standard Operating Procedure for you. It does two things. A it saves you some time and B it gives extra learning to your Virtual Assistant. And then you know that they completely understand the steps that need to be taken.

The first thing is, work out what is the business goal? What do you actually want to achieve in 12 months time? Then look at what are the three tasks if done consistently, every day, would help us reach that goal. And then that is what you get that first VA to do.

There’s over 550,000 university graduates every year and all classes in primary school, secondary school and University are taught in English. English was actually adopted by the government as the language to communicate and to educate as well. So that’s why the Philippines is so attractive, because of the English language skills.
