Before joining GO-VA, our CEO and Head of Culture Fiona Kesby built a track record in recruitment, including the IT and construction and engineering industries. She relocated to Cebu with her 2 daughters in May 2015, a year into GO-VA’s journey, to lead Sales and Recruitment. That soon expanded into taking the helm as CEO. Fiona is committed to “getting the culture right” as the basis for GO-VA’s growth and the well-being and performance of all team members. In 2018, inspired by a Zappos culture camp led by Tony Hsieh, Fiona introduced the position of Chief Happiness Officer in GO-VA.

When they started GO-VA in May 2014, our Founder Matt Kesby and CEO Fiona Kesby knew firsthand what it was like to work with outsourced team members. They had worked with freelancers for their software development business since 2007. Fiona brought into GO-VA more than 16 years of experience in Australian and international recruitment. Matt actually met GO-VA’s first full-time team member when he hired a VA to support his work as Execution Practice Leader for FranklinCovey in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2020, the audiobook market grew as more people consumed books on health, personal development, and a range of other topics. One of our Australian clients is the market leader in audiobooks and large-print books and we are grateful that their team in Cebu is growing fast.
In April, one of their team members, Novem Mai, won the Drive Value Award. She works as a MetaData Librarian, which means she makes it a lot easier for listeners to find the books that match their interests and needs.

Fiona Kesby is a CEO, public speaker, and mother of 2 teenagers. She has built a track record in recruitment and sales and is a firm believer in the power and fulfillment of learning for life.
Originally from Brisbane, Fiona moved with her 2 daughters to Cebu, Philippines in May 2015 to lead Go Virtual Assistants (GO-VA) as it scaled from having fewer than 20 full-time team members at the start to more than 400 as of May 2020.
